n

N-type semi-conductor: It is extrinsic semiconductor, where doping agents or impurities added to intrinsic or pure semiconductor, enable providing extra conduction electrons to the host material (e.g. adding phosphorus in silicon). Thus there is an increase in negative (n-type) electron charge carriers.

NOCT: This refers to Nominal Operating Cell Temperature; it is the temperature reached by open circuited cells in a photovoltaic module under the prescribed conditions of Irradiance on cell surface = 800 W per m2, Air Temperature = 20ᄚC, Wind Velocity = 1 m per sec and with an open back- side mounting.
