Light trapping: Refers to the detention of light within any semiconductor material, achieved by reflecting and refracting light at crucial angles. This captured light travels further through the material, enhancing absorption and thus facilitating charge carrier production.

Light-induced defects: Flaws, like dangling bonds, brought about through an unstructured silicon semiconductor due to initial light exposure.

Line-commutated inverter: Refers to an attached inverted to the power line or grid. The power line controls the conversion of power (commutation), from direct current to alternating current. Hence, in case of any power grid failure, power supply is not available from the PV system.

Load: It is an output device. It draws energy from the electrical power source.
