  • other damage.
  • Manifold pipes squashed out of round, which indicates bad handling or that the equipment has been stored in sunlight and the metal has warped out of shape. This can cause serious trouble at the installation stage.
  • The manifold transport covers (usually plastic intended to keep dirt and moisture out) can be deformed or melted onto the manifolds if the collectors have been stored in sunlight.
  • The absorbers can be scratched, whether a flat-plate coating or evacuated tube linings. This will affect the collector's efficiency.

If any of the damage is severe, refuse the delivery. If not, note the damage on the documents and arrange some kind of compensation for the damaged equipment.

Collectors should be stored securely indoors or well covered outdoors. Make sure they are out of sunlight or they can heat up and burn your hands.

You should remove any plastic-bagged documents from the collectors as soon as possible, especially if the bag has been taped to the glazing. If the collectors heat up before you do this, the plastic bag could melt onto the collector.
