  • There may be height restrictions if your site is close to special properties like an airport. Zoning variations are no problem with existing radio towers or tall buildings of similar height in the vicinity. Aircraft interference may be a minor issue that can be worked out with the local aviation authority. There may be some lighting and paint restrictions in certain areas when towers are more than 200 feet (61 m) tall in the US or 80 feet (24 m) tall in Canada. Both countries provide recommendation letters on markings where necessary.

It is your ethical and legal right to have a wind turbine installed on your property; issues with your neighbors or building officials happen due to their ignorance or your lack of planning.
